Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge follows the sports world shared sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the terrible crash.
