Aryna Sabalenka celebrating a point
The Belarusian player finished the year with an impressive 23-3 Grand Slam win-loss record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.

The 27-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Year of High Performance

Across the season, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Achievements

Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and earned a record eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.

She earned almost 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.

On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a greater prominence".
