Barcelona to Host Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Recent Activities

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
